Where have you been?

You may be asking where I've been for the past 6 months.  Well... We've been busy!  Babies, working, new house (always, always busy).

Christmas this year was so much fun!  You know what's better than 1 baby being excited about Santa?  2 babies that can't get enough of him.
This was as close as JuicyJuice would get but RooBear was in love!
Here's my personal favorite!

One day while riding in the car with my husband, I told him that I'd always dreamed of having a tire swing in the backyard for my kids to play on.  I was shocked when he came home with a tire he found on the side of the road and a chain he picked up from Lowe's.  Hmm... Sometimes he does listen :)

JuicyJuice started gymnastics.  She's very good.  She's probably the youngest in her class (notice I didn't say smallest :)) and she hangs with the big kids.  Still getting used to this fearless child- not like my shy and quiet other daughter.

We had a little family dinner for RooBear's birthday.  Love having our whole family together. I should have got a group shot but... ya know...

As soon as RooBear turned 4 I went and we got that long hair chopped off!  She loves it!  So much cuter and we don't have to worry about a pony tail all the time.

RooBear learned how to ride her bike and JuicyJuice is so busy trying to keep up.  LOL!

The weather got unseasonably warm pretty quickly this year- I filled up the baby pool and let them swim away!!

RooBear's dance recital is right around the corner so I had her pose for some pictures on the front porch.  Love this little girl.  This is what 4 years old looks like :)

We hit up the strawberry patch last week so I certainly can't leave those shots out!  The girls had so much fun.  My sweet little JuicyJuice couldn't stop eating long enough to do any actual picking.  She's so independent now.  What in the world am I going to do with her?

That, in a nut shell, is what's been going on with our little family.  Sorry to my family for not keeping up like I should.  I'll do better from here on out- I promise.

A Perfect Day With My Sweet Little Family

So, Mr Dixon and I let the girls skip school today and we took them to our favorite little animal rescue getaway.  This is one of our favorite places and this was the absolute best day for it.  The weather was wonderful and we had the place all to ourselves.  The four of us had such a great time.  It was such a perfect day.

The bears sit up like this so they can catch the food in their mouths!  They're so funny- if it falls on the ground they just leave it.  They know there will always be more on the way.

Jessie did not like them going through her bag and trying to get her snacks!

Juicy was getting the shake down from these little goats.  LOL.

Our very own stalkarazzi!  They followed us the entire time ;)

I was feeding another animal and he tapped me on the arm to let me know he was hungry, too.

Her favorite part- this little bunny snuck out of the ranch while someone was walking in the gate.  He sat with RooBear for about 20 minutes while she fed him and loved him.

Here's one of Mama and her favorite deer!

Dixon Eyes

My beautiful girl!  I wish I could take credit for these "Dixon Eyes" but I can't.  It's all her daddy!

Go over to I heart faces and check out the other entries! They're so beautiful.

Another Battle Lost

I've only ever wanted little girls- Girls that I could dress up in ribbons and lace.  It never crossed my mind while I was pregnant that my babies would ever be boys.  I don't know why- I always just knew.

I'm not the most feminine woman in the world although I do clean up nice. You'll most likely find me in a t-shirt and a pair of yoga pants.  My babies are a different story!  They're always dressed cute and girly girl.  I love pink and purple and all of their clothes match.  What fun would it be if they didn't?  Halloween is around the corner and I found these adorable costumes!

I almost had RooBear sold and then she saw the dragon...

She was so excited that she sqeeled!  What was I supposed to do?  Tell her no?  Make her be a cupcake? Try to make her understand that this was a boy's costume?
Yeah, right.
She wins again.

And since I couldn't have a dragon and a cupcake...

Here's Juicy's costume.  LOL.
Oh, Halloween.  I can't wait =)

Never Say Never

Most everyone knows I'm a laid back mom.  I'm the kinda mom that doesn't go overboard with the clothes or the shoes.  Yes, my children get dressed up for formal events and special occasions but for the most part we're pretty simple.  I dress them like I dress myself- comfortably and not fussy.

RooBear has turned on me.
Now, don't get me wrong- These shoes are cute.  I just never thought my children would want light up shoes.  Silly of me, right?  Every girl wants to sparkle.
Not only did this little mini talk me into shoes for herself...
She also convinced me that Stister needed a pair, too.  LOL.  She's very persuasive.  Especially when it comes to shoes.

Moral of this story?  Never say what your not going to do when you become a mother.  Never say what your child will or won't do.  Will or won't wear.  The hardest part of this mom thing is letting them make their own decisions.  Here's to hoping all her decisions are as easy as light up or not light up.

Hooray For Playrooms!!

As any parent of two small children knows there is one very important room in your home... A room that not only provides your children with a place to play but also allows parents to have a little quiet time knowing your babies are in a safe place when they're out of your sight.  Here it is, folks!  The playroom!!  Our other house didn't have this extra space and I honestly didn't know what I was missing out on.  Yes, it's a pain in the rear to clean but worth every second.  This is the very first room that I've finished.  I'll post more pictures of the new house as they're completed.  I love it.  So do my babies.

Pay no attention to the grumpy 3 year old.  She's giving me the, "Momma, get out of the way of the TV" look.  I get this a lot.  LOL.  She's her father's child.
