A hard hard week for the Dixons

Our JuicyJuice was born  Monday, May 3 at 7:25 am.  She weighed in at a whopping 7lbs and 4.4oz with a head full of dark hair and the chunkiest cheeks you've ever seen.  Shortly after she was born she was taken to the NICU at HMC because she was having difficulty breathing. She developed a pneumothorax (a small hole in her lung that lets air leak into her chest and causes pressure) on the right side and we had to stay at the hospital for a week while her doctor tried to wash it out with oxygen.  I don't think your ever ready to see your little one hooked up to all the IVs and monitor leads and a tube down her throat.  It was a hard week but our youngest daughter came home Monday morning.  She's just as perfect and beautiful as her older sister and she truly completes this family.  We love you, JuicyJuice!!

Peaches In The Spring

On the way home today RooBear and I stopped by the peach orchard and snapped a few pictures. I love spring and flowers and warming weather and the feeling I get when I pass by one of these orchards. It's kinda hard to explain unless you're from around here because it means so much more to us Peach County girls than just peaches and pretty flowers. It sends me back to when I was young and when I only rode with the windows down. I hope my girls have the same fondness of where they come from when they get older (just as long as their memories are a little less wild than mine).

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail...

My RooBear LOVES the Easter Bunny. I tried to get one picture of her with just her barrette in and she wasn't having it- she wanted to wear her bunny ears to show him she was his #1 fan. Well, Easter Bunny, we're waiting for you to fill up our basket with goodies and toys and next year you'll have 2 baskets waiting on you...

I posted pictures of her previous Easters so you could see how much our little princess has grown.

My brand-new baby. She was 3 weeks old and never opened her eyes to look at him.
1 year old. She LOVED the Easter Bunny!!
2 years old. Mommy's big girl.

RooBear is 2!!

At the last minute (literally, we decided that morning) we changed our minds and carried our shindig to the park. It snowed only the week before but that Saturday was so warm and beautiful that we couldn't make the children stay inside!! We loaded up and moved it out for fun in the sun and we had a blast. I can't believe that my baby is now my little girl. God blesses us every day in every way. Thank you to everyone who came out and shared the day with us and made our little one's day so special... all 40 0f you =)

Proud Proud Mama!!

I'm so proud of my little gymnast!! We had our very first class at Kids America this week and Roo had so much fun. She ran and jumped and tumbled like she's been doing it forever (and she has if you count the flips and jumps off of our ottoman and the couch). I'm so glad they found an opening for us and I can't wait to go back.

Snow Day 2010

I've lived in Georgia all my life and I think that it's maybe snowed 3 or 4 times that I can remember. My little RooBear celebrated her 2nd snow day yesterday!! She loves the snow (just like her Mama) and we played for hours. I can't wait until our JuicyJuice gets here in a few months and completes this little family.

My little baby girl will be 2 in 2 weeks and I can't stand it. I guess that I have become one of those mothers who checks their child for a pause button every chance I get. If I ever find it then I will let you know...
